Tribute to J Dilla. This is a painting of Producer/ rapper, Jay Dee who died earlier this year of Lupis. His last album before he passed was titled "Donuts," thus the reason for my choice of halo. Playstation 3 and 360 box art.

This piece was done for the 2K Sports game "All Pro Football 2K8." The game was not the Madden Killer everyone hoped for, but was fun to work on. The Agency I worked with decided to use a photo for the background on the final. Personally I wasn't really happy with the way my painting and the photo looked in the end, it felt way to forced. I really wish they had just let me do the entire piece, but what are ya gonnna do? "The client is always right."

Speed Painting. Also my first time using Painter. Although I've owned almost every version of Painter over the years, I never really felt comfortable using it. The interface always intimidated me, so I stuck to using Photoshop. When IX came out I finally decided to force myself to learn. Now I have a hard time going back, lol.

I sketched this in Painter then colored it without reference. All comments are welcome!
