In this painting I went back to my roots and decided to do a caricature. I've always been a tremendous fan of Sebastian Kruger. I really don't think anyone can do it better than him. That being said, second on my list is Jason Seiler. I was inspired to start this piece after reading his blog one day.

I used Painter 11 on this one and mostly used the oil pastels to create it. Please feel free to critique and share your opinion! I really appreciate the feedback.

And if you know either Kruger or Jason, tell them they are the Man! (Technically they would be the "Men," but it just doesn't sound as good.)

Peace,

This is a piece I started about two years ago. I posted the w.i.p. a while ago and kind of lost interest. I actually began this piece in Photoshop CS before I knew my way around Painter. I am so into Painter now that i spent the weekend pretty much repainting the entire piece using Painter X.

I am using a modified scratchboard tool and blender. I also used the FX glow for the color bloom in the background. Again I am pretty new to fantasy work, but I really enjoy it.

Hope you like it and please feel free to post all critiques and comments.

Cheers!

This is my tribute to Capcom's epic fighting game. I've always been a fan of the franchise and really enjoy the latest game. I painted this in Corel Painter X with some color correction in Photoshop CS3. I worked on this between my paying jobs in anticipation of the release of the game. As always I am hoping to gain notice of someone in the games industry so I can get paid to do this. ; )

Work is especially slow right now with the economy, so I might try to do a series of these. If anyone has any contacts at Capcom, I'd love to get their opinion!

Please feel free to give me your feedback, the critiques are extremely helpful!!!
Original. I have to admit my initial color scheme on this was a mess. I had no idea what I wanted to do, but luckily I changed it from this. I did know I wanted her to stand out and have a bit of the graphic flare from the game. Also the face didn't work so I changed it also.

Face Detail. I decided to make her dress more of a vinyl material rather than the usual satin for a couple of reasons. Mainly I didn't want her to look like a Cosplay chick, also because it's not what you are use to seeing her wear. Although I'm sure it is incredibly impractical for fighting, especially a "Spinning Bird Kick!"
It took me about a week and a half using Painter X. The primary brushes I used were the pallet knife and water blender. The hair almost killed me. It was so messy, I kept loosing my place with the ref photo.
I've always been a huge comic book fan, so hopefully this piece will get me some more work! The source photo I used is in the montage picture I uploaded. Please feel free to comment, I'd love to get some feedback!
The client liked the look of the first Michael Cera illo I did, but wanted a slightly different angle. I have to admit that I do think the likeness works a little better on this new one. Let me know what you think. This piece also was done in Painter.

I used a modified pallet knife and pure water blender to achieve the airbrush look. I seem to have a bit more control with them. Thanks Ryan Church Gnomon DVD!!!
This piece was done for the 2K Sports game "All Pro Football 2K8." The game was not the Madden Killer everyone hoped for, but was fun to work on. The Agency I worked with decided to use a photo for the background on the final. Personally I wasn't really happy with the way my painting and the photo looked in the end, it felt way to forced. I really wish they had just let me do the entire piece, but what are ya gonnna do? "The client is always right."

I used Painter on this one. All comments are welcome!
